Gan - Morah Chana
Today in Gan the children started off their day by reviewing the Aleph- Bet and forming them out of clay. We then went on to learn all about the Bet Hamikdosh. They prayed beautifully and sang their favorite song “Hashem is here”, with all the motions. They learned about the generation that made the Tower of Bavel and how Abraham was the only person who did not serve idols and believed in Hashem. They then made the Tower of Bavel in their scrapbooks. After snack and playtime, they learned about the letter “Yud” and the words that start with it. For homework, the kids should review the letter “Yud”.
Kita Aleph (1) - Morah Chava
Kitah Aleph came in and watched a video that reviewed all about the Aleph-bet from “Aleph” to “Nun”. We then divided into two teams and played a fun word game. After learning the beginning of the story of how the Jews left Egypt, they gave charity and read the book “The very best place for a penny”. For homework, the children should answer the Tzedakah question and draw a picture of something someone could buy with the money from their Charity box.
Kita Bet (2) - Morah Devorah Leah
Today Kita Bet had a wonderful substitute teacher, Morah Miriam. Unfortunately we didn’t get Morah’s lesson before the end of the day on Sunday. Oops!
Kita Gimmel (3) - Morah Rivkah
Today Kitah Gimmel davened as usual but this time tried to say the words slower and more carefully. They learned all about Shabbat and played a board game of “Shabbat activities” and “Work week activities”. They learned the Hebrew letters “Reish” and “Chaf”, and did a review sheet on them. After learning how important it is to be nice to each other, they played a challenging Mitzvah game. Their homework is to give down Mitzvah gems and do the Aleph- bet review sheet.
Kita Gimmel (3) - Morah Chana
Today in Kitah Gimmel the children learned two new blessings that should be said before eating fruits and vegetables. They went over their Tu B’Shevat review sheets on the seven fruits. The children then learned all about the commandment of Shabbat. They learned how Shabbat is a day of rest and how we should count down the days of the week till Shabbat. For homework, the children should practice the Blessing “Ha’eitz” and “Ha’adama” and make a list of fruits and vegetables.
Kita Dalet (4) - Morah Ellana
In Kitah Daled the students davened, gave charity, and then learned the song “I’m a Jew and I’m proud...” After learning about how the Hashem provided the Jews with food in the desert, they each got a chance to make a presentation on it. In order to practice doing Mitzvos fast the students played relay racing games. They reviewed their Hebrew letters and learned the letters “Chet” and “Tet”. After that, they played a memory game to see how much they knew. Their homework is to do the Mitzvah brick, practice the letters “Chet” and “Tet”, and to the history worksheet.
Kita Hay (5) - Morah Mushky
Kitah Hey started their day with davening and giving charity. The class “davening leader” was Buddy who also got to wear the tzitzus and make the blessing. They then went over their homework from last week and discussed what makes a person happy. The students learned about Yaakov blessing each one of his twelve sons before he passed on. After recess, they played a game where everyone wrote their name on an envelope and passed it around. In the end, they each got back their envelopes full of nice comments from their classmates. The students ended their day reading aloud who in the Torah they learned the character trait of responsibility from. For homework, they should to the multiple-choice worksheet.
Kita Vav (6) - Morah Chaya
Kita Vov davened beautifully and made their Morah very proud. The students learned about the hero- “Esther” who saved the Jews from the terrible plot of Haman. They finished learning about Tu B’shevat, which was the birthday of the trees.
Kita Zayin (7) - Morah Bracha
Today Kitah Zayin added a new part to their Tefillah- the second paragraph of the Shema. In honor of Tu B’Shevat the students learned how a man is likened to a tree. After their Kesivah quiz, they learned about the Ten Commandments and the prelude to it. They ended their lesson playing a challenging game of figuring out the pattern of answering questions. For homework the students should complete the review sheet they were given.
