As I sit down to write this email I am overcome with the broad spectrum of emotions whose hues will passionately paint the words that follow.
Adrenaline begins to coarse through my system as I relive the Aleph Champ Awards Ceremony. Great job to all Aleph Champions who earned a new belt! Pictures of the winners can be seen here.
In case you’re wondering, that’s not a chef’s suit I’m wearing, but rather a full Martial Arts uniform, generously donated by Tony at Top Gun Karate on Northern Blvd. And that brings me directly into my next emotion: shvitzing. Yes, sweatiness is really emotion and you would be surprised how stuffy those Martial Arts suits are.
From there I find myself pondering the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat; that’s right, I’m referring to Report Cards (let’s hope that there’s no agony of defeat). You can expect report cards in the mail this week.
Lastly, I am saddened by the news that the Hebrew School Friday Night Dinner, originally scheduled for this Friday, February 2nd, has been postponed. As the warmth of global warming has slipped through my frigid January fingers, so too I sit bewildered and cold, wondering how I will regain the Shabbat warmth of the Family Shabbat Meal? I apologize for the inconvenience of a last minute cancellation. We are working on finding an acceptable date to reschedule the meal.
Emotionally yours,
Rabbi Weinberg
