Todd Cooper, Partner, graduated Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1984. Shortly thereafter, Todd began working for Kimco Realty as the Vice President of Leasing. In this role, Todd became the head of retail leasing for the company’s extensive, national shopping center portfolio. Todd not only acquired knowledge of retail lease negotiation for many different types of shopping centers and tenants, but also acquired knowledge of shopping center management and finance which included profit and loss reporting, profit analysis, portfolio creation, management, financing, real estate law as it pertains to lease and brokerage agreements, and property marketing. With the knowledge he had acquired, Todd noticed a void within the area and in 1991, departed Kimco Realty to form a company of his own with Peter Ripka. The new company called Ripco would specialize in retail tenant brokerage within a soon to be expanding metropolitan New York area. He and Peter began to set up their new company on Long Island and quickly began searching for an office way to build the structure while obtaining clients and customers. Within months they were able to open Ripco’s first office with Andrea DuPont taking over the role of setting up the inside of the company with, systems, support and operations.

Todd Cooper’s experience and expertise from a Shopping Center owner and developer perspective in addition to his strong personal values, have helped Ripco grow and establish close ties with several national retail tenant’s and other real estate brokerage firms. His knowledge of retail leases, negotiation, marketing and finance have been a integral element to Ripco’s success, values, growth, reputation and outstanding sales, support and marketing staff during the past 20 years.
