Congregation B’nai Avraham and Chabad of Brooklyn Heights honored former New York City Comptroller William Thompson at their annual dinner at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Manhattan’s Battery Park.

Marking 22 years of operation, the dinner also honored Philip D. Lerner as man of the year, Dr. Sol D. Haber with the Maimonides healing arts award, and Jeremy and Miriam Fox with the Kesser Shem Tov award.

Rabbi Ari Raskin, the congregation’s director and spiritual leader, noted that the Chabad House and synagogue have come a long way: “I vividly remember the very first service at the theater on Willow Place.”
